13 weeks - inches from 2nd tri

My shrimpy peach!

Babycenter says it's a Medium Shrimp. The Bump.com says it's a Peach.

How your baby's growing: Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.

Amazing!

So everyone knows now, we told both sides of the family (as you saw last week), all my friends and work knows too. Everyone was very excited and of course, everyone says "I knew it!" Some people think there's a bump there. I think it's just more noticeable just after I've eaten ;)

I feel great about being at 13 weeks, Saturday the 22nd is really the start of the second trimester at 13 weeks, 3days - I'm really excited I've made it to this point. I know there are so many more milestones to hit but I feel really great about making it this far. Thank you God.

Okay, here's the 12 week photo. I wonder when we'll perfect these? Maybe when there's really something to see...

12 Weeks!!

It's a LIME!
How your baby's growing:The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

It feels good to get to 12 weeks even though I'm still anxious and not into the 2nd trimester technically until the 29th.

Spreading the news

So we told most of my mom's family on Saturday since my uncle was in town from Seattle for the first time in 7 years. My aunt had a cookout and so my mom thought that would be the best time.

Nick and I decided to use an idea I saw online or maybe TV (?) to get everyone together for a picture and say, "Ok, on the count of 3, 1...2....Summer's pregnant!" and then we'd have a picture of everyone's faces!

At first they thought it was a joke, to get everyone to laugh but we were like, no it's for real and everyone freaked. It was priceless.

My grandma was so mad we waited so long to tell her. It was sooo funny!

This is how we're going to tell other people (friends that live far away, etc)

We've got to send it to my other aunts this week so they're not left out!

I'm still nervous since 12 weeks isn't until Wednesday but I need to have a little faith that God is taking care of our little peanut in there :)

11 week picture

Here I was at 11 weeks (I was ready for bed, obviously)

11 Weeks!

Made it to 11 weeks! This week the baby is a fig!



How your baby's growing:Your baby, just over 1 1/2 inches long and about the size of a fig, is now almost fully formed. Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. You won't feel your baby's acrobatics for another month or two — nor will you notice the hiccupping that may be happening now that her diaphragm is forming.



I've really been feeling fine. Symptoms are still there but there's still really nothing major or anything to complain about! I've been so blessed the last 11 weeks! We go to the doctor tomorrow for our 3rd appointment (2nd since they confirmed the pregancy). I'm pretty excited. I wish they were going to try to hear the heartbeat but I'm pretty sure it's just an exam. I need to hear everything is still okay! I think I've decided to wait until week 13 to tell work...we'll see after this appointment.

10 week photo

Okay, here I was at 10 weeks. I'm 10 weeks 4 days today.
The bloat has actually let up in the last couple of days. Maybe that means a real baby belly will be here soon! The bella band however is still getting daily use!

10 Weeks!

Well, here we are at 10 weeks (and 1 day to be exact)! I'll upload the belly picture over the weekend.

The baby this week is almost the size of a kumquat (because everyone knows what those look and feel like). Thebump.com says it's a prune. I'll stick with kumquat. So, here's whats goin' on in there this week! This week they're referring to it as "him" - they must be broken. It's totally a girl ;)

How your baby's growing:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.

He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.

If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.

So exciting!

I am just counting down to my next appointment on the 14th. I really have been feeling fine. Not really "pregnant". I know I should be thankful but when you feel like this you just want to feel something to let you know everything is 'okay'. We always want what we don't have! I just pray this baby is healthy and growing as it should.

8 & 9 week photos

After posting the 8 & 9 week pictures I made the executive decision to not post them! They just look gross and we'll have to get the hang of taking them. I think they'll all need to be covered belly pictures, my belly just isn't cute. We'll start at 10 weeks! I'll just keep 8 & 9 for my scrapbook :)

They're all bloat anyway, don't feel like you're missing out on something...
