This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.
That's no joke, he definitely does move a lot and I love it! I think I'm really going to miss being pregnant. I love having him with me all the time and I love that I can feel him kick and it's just between us. I'm excited to meet him and see what he looks like, sounds like, his disposition, etc but for now, I'm happy having him all to myself.
Next doctor's appointment is next Monday so I'll have an update on next week's post.
New Year's Eve is tomorrow. I can't believe what a year it's been! I've been seriously beyond blessed. It's been exciting and I can't wait to see what 2010 brings for our new little family. I know after all the blessings we've received this year that God will get us though whatever next year brings.
We generally celebrate low key, at my parents house with lots of snacks and just hang out. Perfect for this year! Nick is sick so even more fitting that we stay in and take it easy.
