32 weeks!

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

I had a good 32 week appointment, (well it was a few days before 32 weeks) - very quick, didn't have a lot of questions and everything is still right on track as far as his size.
We had our Childbirth Preparation class today. It was supposed to be two whole days but the group decided to power through and actually do everything all in one day. We learned a lot about pain management and labor. I'm so glad we did it, I feel better equipped with what to expect. I'm not foolish enough to think everything will go by the book but I like knowing all the different things. We learned everything right down to what a catheter and the epidural tubing look like! I feel much more prepared now, knowing my how things generally go. The group asked a lot of good questions and I got to ask all of mine.
We got to tour the hospital, it's fairly new, it will be just a year old when we go to have Campbell. The rooms are all single rooms and they are big. We'll stay in the same room the whole time and Campbell will stay with us the whole time too which is really nice to me.
We decided that we're going to do everything we can for me not to have an epidural. The side effects are just more than I want to risk. We both are open to the fact there may come a point where I can't take it and need to have it but we'll start out with doing all the pain management techniques before we get to that point. I think if I go into it knowing that yes, it's going to be the worst pain I may ever feel, it won't last forever and people do do it every day, that's all I can do. We'll think positive and Nick supports me so we'll do our best. We do have a code word "Virginia" so when I say that, it means, I'm done, give me the drugs!
I'm just continuing to pray that he's healthy and that he stays inside until at least 37 weeks! Please God. That's all I can hope for.
I've continued to have some Braxton Hicks but less than the limit in an hour and laying down stops them so I think we're still okay.

We've got a couple more classes to go through, Breastfeeding Basics, Home with Baby and Infant CPR. Those will be much shorter.
Next weekend I have my first shower (of two). Yay!
