Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.----
I think that Swiss chard looks disgusting by the way, but whatever.
Wow, what an amazing milestone to hit. Words cannot express how blessed I feel to have reached full term. Ideally little Mr. Campbell will wait until 40 weeks but knowing that if he did come now, he'd be okay (typically) is a relief that every mother to be wants to feel. Thank you God for letting us get here.
Not only have we gotten here, it's been smooth! I really haven't had much to complain about this year. No one wants to hear someone complain about being pregnant especially when there are so many people out there wishing and hoping for this experience so I don't usually voice all of my aches and pains to everyone. Since I'm basically using this blog as a journal, I do want to document the things I'm feeling so I can go back and remember the things I went through (partly so if there's a next time I'll remember I dealt with it before)!
So here it goes, a rundown of what I have experienced!
I haven't had morning sickness which was my biggest fear! So gosh, all of this other stuff really shouldn't be a big deal!
-hip and shoulder pain while sleeping.
-stretch marks (fortunately in a place not seen by the sun so far)
-heartburn: this is a daily thing and doesn't matter what time of day or night or what I've eaten, water causes it!
-Braxton Hicks
-Early on, hair loss
-lower back pain
-some swelling in ankles, feet, wrists, fingers (can't wait to wear my engagement ring again!)
-nasal congestion (this is so annoying!)
All that being said, there is NO other feeling to replace the first time you hear the heartbeat and breathe that sigh of relief, or the first (or second or hundreth) time you feel your baby move inside your belly, or the first time you see your baby on an ultrasound and see that 'OMG, it's a real person in there!' I can't believe I'm just about the end of all these exciting firsts. I can't wait to see all the firsts that come with an "outside baby" but will cherish the last few days/weeks of having Campbell all to myself and this completely amazing experience I'm so blessed to have.

Oh! I'm finally having my shower with friends this weekend - it was supposed to be last weekend but was postponed for the EPIC SNOWSTORM! I'm excited it's finally going to be held! One of my two departments at work took me out to lunch and gave me a gift card to Target and one of them gave me a blanket her mom crocheted for Campbell. So beautiful and special. Nick and I are going shopping at Babies R Us this Sunday to get the rest of the big things on our registry.
Next week Nick's work department is throwing us a shower and my other department is having a lunch as well so everything is rounding up! If people end up getting us duplicates we'll just do returns. I need the peace of mind of having the things as soon as possible since he could come any time now!
Doctors appointment tomorrow, we'll see what the status is!
Well, here's what I look like for 37 weeks. Pardon the pajamas and no make up. I worked from home this day - HAWT!
